Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) Suppliers to Hike iPhone 11 models Production 10%

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has asked the suppliers to increase the production of its iPhone 11 models, by up to 8 million units, or almost 10%, it was reported by Nikkei Asian Review  on Friday, citing a better than expected demand.

 

It said the Nikkei quoting a source. “Previously, Apple Inc was quite conservative about placing the orders”, that were less than for last year’s new iPhone, after the increase, it prepared production volume for Apple iPhone 11 series will be higher compared to last year”.

 

The Sources cited by Nikkei also said that the recent surge in Apple iPhone orders is concentrated in cheapest iPhone 11 model and iPhone 11 Pro model, while Apple Inc has slightly revised down the orders for its top range model, and the iPhone 11 Pro Max has a starting price of $1,099.

 

Newspaper reported that the suppliers remain cautious and also said that they were concerned higher level of orders, that would not be sustained.

 

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) launched its three new iPhone models in September and also reduced starting price of its model upgrade, in spite of better cameras, to $699, as compared to $749 for last year’s iPhone XR.
